The DC region has some of the worst traffic in the country. To relieve this problem, the Maryland Governor proposed a 495 and 270 expansion project that needed approval by the Board of Public Works.
We connected over 1,000 constituents directly to the comptroller, who was the swing vote on the board. By turning these constituents into advocates, we personalized the issue and made sure the comptroller knew people supported this project.
The comptroller voted with the Governor to approve the expansion plan and move toward a solution to the traffic problem.
