Case Study

Citizens for a Nuclear Free Iran

During the debate over the Iran Nuclear Deal, Winning Connections collaborated with Citizens for a Nuclear Free Iran to fight to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

Advised by former Democratic lawmakers, Senators Evan Bayh of Indiana, Mark Begich of Alaska, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana and Joe Lieberman of Connecticut, Citizens for a Nuclear Free Iran launched a robust advocacy effort in the summer of 2015. Affiliated with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), Citizens for a Nuclear Free Iran dedicated itself to informing the public about the dangers of Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon and the need to continue our strong relationship with Israel.

Our Role

Winning Connections worked with Citizens for a Nuclear Free Iran from the beginning, collecting and analyzing supporter information and finding new supporters to engage in advocacy. We connected almost 20,000 constituents per day, to over 250 Congressional offices. In total, over 500,000 constituents talked to their legislator’s office.

Though the Iran Nuclear Deal went into effect, the majority of our targets ended up opposing the deal. More importantly, our campaign laid the foundation for increased aid to Israel, maintaining the security of our most important partner in the Middle East.
