Yesterday, Mark Kanarick led a training session as part of a seminar put together by 21st Century Democrats, a grassroots organization dedeciated to building party infrastructure and elected the next generation of progressive leaders. Mark gave a presentation on the best ways to use phone calls to win an election. Over 50 future campaign managers, union organizers, and progressive activists learned about strategic voter contact techniques and voter file managmement.

A Big Win for Ohio jobs!

We helped the labor movement turn out Ohio working families for Issue 3 to bring casinos—and 34,000 good jobs—to Ohio. Campaign Manager Tom Whatman engineered one of the biggest upsets of the year, winning a race that came after four defeats for Ohio gaming initiatives. Research-driven interactive GOTV calls boosted turnout in union households high above the rest of the electorate.

Congratulations to Joe Abbey for managing the biggest upset in the history of Virginia! Winning Connections helped Senator Deeds get his message out on jobs, reproductive choice and the Washington Post endorsement through dozens of targeted call programs. Interesting note – Google trends ‘predicted’ Creigh’s win a week out.

Winning Connections sweeps live call category at the Reed Awards.

Winning Connections won three awards in the live call category last month at the first annual Reed Awards, presented by Politics Magazine and MC’ed by journalist Matt Cooper, of Libby leak fame. With more than 50 firms participating, Winning Connections won all the awards offered in the live call category. Our winning clients included the League of Conservation Voters, the Froehlich for State Representative campaign, and the Mike Skelly for Congress campaign.

Markell Campaign in Delaware Invests in Turnout, Scores Stunning Upset

In a Democratic primary race that broke all turnout records, Delawareans chose Jack Markell as their likely next governor. The Markell campaign and Winning Connections put together a telephone voter contact effort that paid off in a narrow victory– ultimately winning with a 1,700 vote margin. The Delaware News-Journal called it a “stunning victory”.
